Direct hire opportunity | Onsite | $75K - $100K Based on experience.
This role reports to the Chief Facilities Engineer and ensures the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the facility's interior, exterior, infrastructure, and equipment. This role supports operations and maintenance activities while also managing external contractors to ensure proper task completion.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of central plant systems, including electrical, mechanical, structural, and control systems such as chillers, exhaust fans, air handlers, pumps, and steam systems.
Identify potential issues and collaborate with the Chief Facilities Engineer to resolve them.
Research and recommend system improvements for increased efficiency and cost savings.
Oversee preventative maintenance, repair, and servicing of laboratory equipment, including CO2 manifold delivery systems, air compressors, DI water systems, vacuum systems, environmental rooms, pumps, and more.
Manage and inspect all contracted maintenance activities, including monthly testing of systems such as the DI water system, emergency generator, and safety equipment.
Respond to equipment and building alarms both during and after regular working hours.
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Building Engineering.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office and Facility Preventative Maintenance Programs.
Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment and machine shop tools.
Familiarity with Cal-OSHA regulations, HazMat protocols, and building and fire codes.
High School Diploma or GED required.
