Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and we have an open contract requisition for an experienced, Civil Design Engineer, to assist with the license renewal program at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant in Soddy Daisy, TN. Â
TVA is targeting Civil Engineers with nuclear plant experience in Seismic Analysis, Piping Analysis, Pipe Supports, and Design Changes to facilitate an aging management program related to License Renewal.

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Local or Regional candidates highly preferred.
Target start date:Â 11/04/24
Target W2 Pay Rate:Â $65.00/hour (time & half for overtime)
Duration: Â 12 months
Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES:
PLANS, SCHEDULES, CONDUCTS, OR COORDINATES DETAILED PHASES OF CIVIL ENGINEERING WORK IN A PART OF A MAJOR PROJECT OR A TOTAL PROJECT OF MODERATE SCOPE.
PERFORMS WORK THAT INVOLVES A VARIETY OF COMPLEX FEATURES SUCH AS CONFLICTING DESIGN REQUIREMENTS, UNSUITABILITY OF CONVENTIONAL MATERIALS, AND DIFFICULT COORDINATION REQUIREMENTS.
PLANS AND CONDUCTS WORK REQUIRING JUDGMENT IN THE INDEPENDENT EVALUATION, SELECTION, AND SUBSTANTIAL ADAPTATION AND MODIFICATION OF STANDARD TECHNIQUES, PROCEDURES, AND CRITERIA.
DEVISES NEW APPROACHES TO PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED.
PROVIDES PROCUREMENT AND FIELD ENGINEERING INCLUDING WALK-DOWNS, MODIFICATION, MAINTENANCE, AND TESTING SUPPORT.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (PE) CERTIFICATION DESIREABLE.
5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A NUCLEAR PLANT ENVIRONMENT REQUIRED.
STRONG PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN SEISMIC, PIPING ANALYSIS, PIPING SUPPORT, AND DESIGN CHANGES.
