Are you passionate about creating and managing for highly complex systems? Join our team! As a Systems Security Engineer II, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Running security scans using products like Tenable Nessus
Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings representing system security
Work with the engineering team to ensure security compliance during design
Write documentation supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts
Work with System and Network Administrators to apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) settings
Must-haves:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 3 years of relevant experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Current/ Active Secret Clearance or higher Experience working with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
Preferred:
Strong understanding of DoD applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and NIST special publications.
DoD 8570/8140 compliant: CAP,CISSP, CASP and/or other equivalent certification (desired) *Required within 6 months of hire. Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, or other technical certifications a plus.
Experience working with security control assessment tools such as ACAS / Tenable Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and eMASS.
Linux (Linux+, LPIC-1, RHCSA), Cisco, Microsoft, Security+ certifications.
DoD 8570/8140 compliant: CAP,CISSP, CASP and/or other equivalent certification (desired) *Required within 6 months of hire. Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, or other technical certifications a plus.
Strong communication skills, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize projects; ability to work with people and carry out changing project priorities.
