Job Summary:
Perform a variety of duties/operations to prepare fabricate and inspect all types of bonded assemblies, parts, and details. Bond a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment, or structures into semi-finished or finished products.
Job Duties:
- Lays out articles, read blueprint, cuts parts or materials to size.
- Applies liquid or solid bonding agents.
- Sands, burrs and smoothes over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Monitors and verifies quality of finished product.
- Completes repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
- Verifies quality of finished product.
- Main adherence/conformance to specifications and follow established procedures.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, quality procedures and instructions, manufacturing specifications and procedures, operation and work sheets, electronic data, and verbal instructions.
- Layout, fit, assemble, and perform a variety of trimming, routing, and assembly operations on a variety of simple bonded assemblies, parts, and details.
- Perform a variety of duties related to the setup and machining of honeycomb.
- Use precision measuring instruments performing assigned quality tasks.
- Approve and stamp acceptable assemblies/parts that meet specifications and reject those that do not.
- Read and interpret withholding tags, standard specifications, and standard repair manual.
- Maintain necessary paperwork / records.
- Notify supervision of all malfunctions, defects, or damages of equipment, material, and product.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices, and directives
