Johnson Service Group, a national staffing company, is seeking Composite Bonders for Milledgeville, GA area. This is a contract assignment that requires five years of experience in aircraft composite bonding.
Function: Perform a variety of duties/operations to prepare fabricate and inspect all types of bonded assemblies, parts and details.
Duties:
- Main adherence/conformance to specifications and follow established procedures.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, quality procedures and instructions, manufacturing specifications and procedures, operation and worksheets, electronic data and verbal instructions.
- Setup, operate, control/monitor and troubleshoot ovens to process liquids, solids and gaseous ingredients into aircraft components.
- Setup and machine metallic and non-metallic honeycomb core to thickness, contour or diameter using a variety of machines.
- Layout, fit, assemble and perform a variety of trimming, routing, bonding and assembly operations to exacting tolerances on a variety bonded assemblies, parts and details.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as optics, micrometers, protractors, templates, inspection checking fixtures, digital thickness gauges and hardness testers to inspect bonded materials, parts and assemblies.
- Perform surveillance inspections of process areas to assure compliance to process requirements.
- Read and interpret withholding tags, standard specifications and standard repair manual.
- Prepare and adjust schedules to provide for priorities and contingencies.
- Know and utilize current cost tracking system.
- Maintain necessary paperwork / records.
- Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated production accountability.
- Assist in estimating time and materials for special projects and assignments.
- Assist and instruct lower classified bonders as required.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives.
Job Knowledge and Educational Requirements:
- Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
- Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required.
- High school diploma or an accredited GED.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ in all phases of bonding operations.
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
