Johnson Service Group is looking for a Jr. Design Engineer with Mixed Signal (analog/digital) exp.  In this role you will design new products as a key member of high-performance design teams. You will work closely with applications engineering on definition, and with test and product engineering to take the product to high volume production. Products include state-of-the-art high voltage Flyback controllers as well as PFC controllers for off-line (AC-DC) applications, such as ultra-high density, high efficiency USB-PD compatible power adapters.


  • Design various analog blocks, such as comparators, amplifiers, references, etc.
  • Participate in architecture and definition of the overall product and follow through with top level implementation.
  • Simulate and verify complex designs at all levels; cell, block, chip, and system, using advanced modeling techniques (VerilogAMS, real number modeling) within a structured verification framework (UVM).
  • Perform bench evaluation of new products, working closely with test and applications engineering.
  • Contribute to continuous design/development process improvement, helping speed time-to-market and increase the rate of first-pass design success.


  • BSEE + 3 years of experience required.
  • MSEE + 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Expertise with Cadence Virtuoso custom IC design tools required.
  • Experience with both analog and custom logic design required.
  • Experience with SMPS topologies (buck, boost, flyback) preferred, especially isolated topologies.
