Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for an experienced, Electrical Designer, for a 6-month contract assignment with Bechtel National supporting the Kennedy Space Center. This role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization.


U.S. Citizenship is required

W2 Pay Rate - $60.00 to $65.00/hour


Project Overview:

Located at Kennedy Space Center, the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for NASA to provide an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for circuit and raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit, and above-ground raceway design
  • Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems
  • Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures
  • Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards
  • May interface with Construction and Subcontractors


Education / Experience:

  • Associate degree in design, drafting, or similar field
  • 3+ years of related design experience with AutoCAD Electrical
    • In lieu of a degree, high school diploma and 7+ years of related design experience
  • Must have proven electrical 2D CADD design skills
  • Hands-on experience with raceway and electrical equipment layouts
  • Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, and work well with others and within a team
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on use or classes using in a 3D electrical model design platform
  • Experience with CREO design tools
  • Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the data base
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
