Johnson Service Group (JSG) is teamed with a global leader in the aerospace market. Our client is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer. Will focus on developing embedded software through the application of standard engineering principles and practices, with appropriate software and functional safety compliance standards.

 Scope of Experience and Responsibilities:

  • 4-8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Will develop embedded software through standard engineering principles, practices, procedures, including the evaluation of software and functional safety compliance standards.
  • Expertise in software development/simulation, and analysis tools, including editors, compilers, linkers, debuggers, code analyzers, version control systems, and software testing tools.
  • Excellent engineering, software design, development, and verification expertise.
  • Ability to write software requirements to meet/exceed system expectations and contribute to participating system requirement reviews.
  • Responsible for design solutions/implementation and software developer test creation and execution.
  • Strong experience with software development and/or verification.
  • Project technical leadership and/or team lead experience is a plus.
  • Ability to implement functional safety software (ISO26262 or IEC61508) in embedded systems is a plus.
  • Design/support complex software systems and sub-systems.
  • Develop functional safety system requirements and facilitate the development of test plans.
  • Provide project scope definition and contribute to proposal technical solutions, as well as cost estimating.
  • Provide engineering leadership with technical reviews, and evaluation of new opportunities.
  • Contribute to the planning/developing/coordinating of complex engineering projects.
  • Ability to provide mentoring to other engineering associates.
  • Interface with customers and ability to write technical papers/presentations.
  • Lead Engineering Peer Reviews.
  • Conduct/oversee unit testing, debugging, and software/hardware integration.
  • Drive product improvement/replacement, and process/standards improvement efforts.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork, problem solving, and analytical calculation skills.

Education: 

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline is required. 
  • MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline is a plus.
