Job Title: Engineer - Avionics, Instruments & GNC III

Job Description

Lead and Support trade studies to select the right technical architectures for the engine avionics organization. Develop long term roadmaps for system/software/hardware architectures that supports program, business and technical needs. Define processes and best practices that enable a systems engineering driven process for avionics development. Lead and support peer reviews of technical solutions. Lead technical evaluation committee reviews for major program milestones and engine avionics/controls programs. Support teams in technical program execution including but not limited to being an individual contributor when called upon. Ensure engine avionics sub-system development programs adhere to software and hardware safety standards. Work with other internal organizations to collect, develop, and share best practices, lessons learned, engine avionics roadmaps, development tools and other relevant technical material that benefits Team Blue. Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain and manufacturing to evaluate component parts and sub-assemblies that address roadmap and program needs. Additionally, will make recommendations and help ensure long term availability of critical parts used on engine avionics products/systems. Establish and maintain software and hardware design standards that work well for engine avionics development.

Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical, computer engineering, or aerospace engineering. 10+ years of experience in complex embedded systems development (software and hardware). Engineering Management Experience. A strong background in aerospace hardware/electronics and/or software development. Excellent understanding of exploiting analytical tools. Ability to work effectively in teams. Ability to determine the right level of technical re-use that is achievable with ability to collaborate with teams to help them make the right technical architectural decisions without forcing commonality. Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time. Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
