Johnson Service Group is assisting our global manufacturing client with a direct hire, Engineering Manager for our client near Columbia, MO. This incumbent will be responsible for leading the Process Engineering function that supports the high volume manufacturing operation of powered equipment. This individual will also develop and execute a CAPEX plan and budget that meets the long-term strategic plan for the business. Developing a lean manufacturing culture for continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity will also be a focus.

Full relocation is provided.

Duties:

  • Develop the CAPEX budget plan each year and execute
  • Achieve the OPEX cost out targets and achieve annual departmental budget
  • Coordinate the improvement of the manufacturing processes to improve productivity
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma concepts to improve productivity and quality
  • Develop the overall capabilities of the manufacturing team in the areas of project management, application of lean tools to drive SQDC, and individual personal development
  • Implement processes to improve safety in manufacturing with proactive equipment improvements and engineering out process & equipment hazards in the workplace. Improve equipment throughput and uptime
  • Identify and coordinate projects that support the manufacturing group
  • Support quality improvement initiatives with proper tooling, job set ups and work instructions

Required:

  • BS in Engineering and 12+ years of business/operations management or manufacturing experience with management responsibilities.
  • 5 or more years of experience using technical mastery of continuous improvement tools, methodologies, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience building productive relationships within the business and across organizations
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the business and present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity
  • Experience leading large capital projects, with the ability to deliver results
  • Able to identify problems; apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using data
  • Ability to develop Innovative and effective solutions
