Johnson Service Group is an engineering staffing firm and Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and we are currently recruiting a Field Ops Support Analyst for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in Decatur, AL. This position offers a W2 hourly pay rate + time and a half for overtime.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Providing maintenance for telecommunications, desktop/server hardware and software, and network attached devices, and installing according to IT Engineering’s design specification
  • Working with IT Engineering to write specifications for hardware maintenance and monitoring
  • Providing both remote and on-site support as required
  • Coordinates and supports IT security related issues
  • Schedules and conducts outages for maintenance and device upgrades
  • Ensures monitoring and administration tools are installed and operating
  • Ensures equipment maintenance and service contracts exist
  • Supports non-standard, non-network, and non-standard specialized systems
  • Works with infrastructure operations (IO) to review performance data & develop corrective action as needed.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business or related field of study; or equivalent education, training & experience.
  • Extensive leadership ability and experience in desktop/peripherals, telecommunications, storage or server hardware.
  • Demonstrated competence in configuring, integrating, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting the IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with written and oral communications.
  • Project, team or other group leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to qualify for and maintain required security clearances and plant access.
  • Must be able and willing to assume on-call rotational assignments which may include 24-hour on 7-day per week availability.
  • Travel as required to carry out project work or perform temporary duty at other than home-based site which supports both internal and external business on the schedule and shift requirements of those businesses.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
