Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Recruitment Firm specializing in Professional, Engineering and Technical Recruitment. We are currently recruiting for a GLOBAL DIVISION CONTROLLER with a division of a diversified, Fortune 500 manufacturing company.

The division has +300 employees, 6 global manufacturing sites and presence in North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.

Role Description:

As a key member of the Companies leadership team, the Division Controller will partner with the VP/GM to successfully lead and profitably grow the division.

Our Division Controller acts a business partner and facilitator amongst the dynamic functional backdrop of this division.  The Controller’s scope and influence extends beyond the accounting practice and helps drive our division’s core growth deliverables by helping guide and consult on the financial and forecasting implications of all business decisions related to product, customer, and people.  Ability to cultivate and maintain trusting partnerships with core commercial and operational functional leaders across the division and platform is a must.   

The Division Controller key responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis, maintenance of internal accounting controls, compliance with financial policies and procedures, oversight of operational accounting processes.  The IT functionality of the division also resides within the Division Controller’s responsibility. This role is global in scope, with finance teams in several countries.

The division is highly focused on developing talent. As such, the Division Controller needs to have a proven track record of talent management and best-in class employee development along the Finance and VP/GM talent pipelines, and must be able to assess, develop and coach talent at all career stages and across all functions.  Building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive team is a core deliverable of this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivers accurate and timely monthly financial forecasts
  • Proactive internal reporting – Identify potential issues/opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Financial analysis of actual results to highlight variances to key strategic plans/forecasts
  • Partners with the division’s leadership team to develop and execute annual and long-range plans based on in-depth understanding of financial analysis of potential capital investments, acquisition opportunities, restructuring projects and other critical ad-hoc opportunities
  • Oversees day-to-day financial and IT operations/processes including, but not limited to Accounts Payable, Credit/Collections, Inventory/Cost Accounting, Payroll, and IT systems/support
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and the financial analysis of results as well as provides variance explanations for actuals compared to plan, forecast and prior year
  • Manages the financial planning and forecasting processes, as well as the internal and external audit processes
  • Leads, drives, and implements changes to simplify processes and eliminate complexity within the business that will enhance financial performance
  • Identifies, leads, and develops talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in exceeding division and functional goals
  • Supports the execution and timely progress of key divisional initiatives through management of accurate data tracking and governance
  • Builds strong relationships with finance leaders in other Divisions, the Platform, and the Segment
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in financial reporting and analysis, cost reduction, inventory costing and control, operational accounting, and financial statement management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial management role with direct people leadership responsibility
  • Division or business unit controllership experience highly desired
  • Demonstrated experience leading and working within successful cross-functional project teams
  • Experience working in a manufacturing business as a plant controller preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and business intelligence software tools
  • Travel of up to 25% to company sites required
