Senior HR & Benefits Analyst
Location: Tampa

Position Summary Description
The HR & Benefits Analyst is responsible for administration and ensuring compliance of the benefit plans, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans (both DB and DC), paid time off plans, and other employee benefit plans offered.

The incumbent will coordinate, perform and participate in various other human resources generalist functions at the professional level with a strong focus on employee benefits and compliance in support of the Cooperative's strategic plan.
They will also work collaboratively with colleagues to execute various employee programs in all locations.
 

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area is required.
7 years of experience in a progressively responsible HR generalist or specialist role at the professional level
Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, and/or CEBS) is preferred.
Advanced degree is desirable.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs ongoing data-driven analysis of the self-funded employee health insurance program to ensure competitiveness, including claims analysis.
  • The incumbent is responsible for proper communication and prompt and effective response to employee needs.
  • Also responsible for the coordination of internal/external audits and all HR compliance requirements.
    Must be able to interpret benefits related regulations, policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates, implements and communicates Equal Employment practices and activities, including research of current and pending legislation to ensure equal employment opportunity and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Duties will include

  • Evaluating existing benefit programs and proposing changes, as well as developing new programs.
  • Responsible for creating communication materials, such as presentations, flyers, interactive displays etc., to keep employees and management updated on plan changes and amendments.
  • Position will work closely with outside or internal legal to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Administers the required training to employees and management on HR compliance related topics to ensure regulatory requirements are met along with ensuring proper utilization of the programs.
  • Performs and participates in detailed research and analysis of activities such as employee leave, worker’s compensation, HR compliance etc.
  • Provides management reporting utilizing HRIS.
  • Assists in managing HR programs impacting employee leave, including short-term disability, long-term disability, Worker’s Compensation and FMLA.
  • Assists in administering Workers Compensation activities to ensure accurate record keeping, promotion of safety, accident prevention and employee wellness, timely reporting and subsequent coordination relating to on-the-job accidents and investigations and compliance with federal and state regulations and record keeping requirements.
  • Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
