Johnson Service Group is now hiring for an Installation Department Manager (conveyor industry) located or willing to relocate outside of Atlanta, GA

  • This is a direct hire, full-time position
  • Relocation assistance is available


  • 3+ years of experience with On-site Conveyor Installation Management or Supervision of conveyor installations within the distribution center / manufacturing industry
  • Experience / knowledge of mechanical and electrical conveyor and shuttle systems


  • Responsible for training / developing mechanical & electrical Supervisors / Technicians and Installation Contractors.
  • Support Field Supervisors with installation issues.
  • Gathering data from job sites, assigning Supervisors / Technicians to job sites and scheduling and approving travel plans.
  • Review, assess and encourage team members to improve their technical knowledge and skills and to solve problems actively on their own
  • Weekly / daily meetings with field operations crew
  • Schedule team members to optimize the success of projects, particularly based on the qualifications of the team members
  • Continuous progress monitoring of assigned projects
  • Frequent communication to team members (in-house and customer sites)
  • Provide regular status updates to upper management
  • Technical and qualitative review of project reports from team members
  • Evaluate and revise execution plans
  • Lead kick-off and post installation meetings
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety guidelines with field Technicians, Supervisors, and QA Managers
  • Initiate actions and check that these actions have helped to achieve project goals
  • Collect data from field operations from all projects and report to upper management
  • Organizing and implementing training for team members
  • Write and maintain installation documents
  • Final review of projects by schedule, costs and quality with Field Technicians, Supervisors, and QA Managers
  • Organizing training for field operation - Technicians
  • QA record keeping
  • Coordination with headquarters regarding installation, process, products and quality
  • Provide project updates and training to Supervisors and Technicians
  • Assist annual review with all team members
  • Ability to lead, motivate and encourage team members to reach defined goals
  • Ability to recognize, troubleshoot and in the end resolve team failures and problems
