Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for a Machine Operator with 1+ years of experience for a 2nd shift contract to hire position at a world leading Food Manufacturer in the greater Atlanta area.

The ideal candidate will setup and run Food Processing Machines. They will work in a team environment to set up machine in order to produce quality chocolate products that are ready to ship to customers This role is 100% Mechanical. The shift is 2pm – 10:30pm with shift differential pay.

Essential Functions of Machine Operator:

  • Provide leadership to associates working on-line.
  • Assure coverage for associates while on 15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunch break.
  • Report any safety concerns, near misses and/or incidents immediately to Production Manager.
  • Set up and shut down of entire product line which includes hoses, call for lines, filters, temperatures, heads, recipe, scales, tape machine, metal detector and label machine.
  • Observe and evaluate process and make any necessary adjustments to maintain quality product which is at or above the minimum kg/hr requirement.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
  • Adjust to changes in production schedule in a timely manner.
  • Receive, evaluate, sample and document all raw chocolate.
  • Melt and pump chocolate.
  • Perform product specifications testing.
  • Monitor production process throughout shift paying close attention to temperatures, filters and product quality.
  • Clean all areas listed on R14 cleaning paperwork
  • Clean all equipment throughout shift – hoses, filters, connectors, floors, etc.
  • Perform Production Packager duties as needed.
  • Check full box weight and metal detector – 3 x daily.
  • Align, move and shrink wrap pallets
  • Forecast production for next day/week(s) work.
  • Prepare boxes and print labels for next day/week(s) work
  • Use of small hand tools – box cutter, screwdriver, hammer
  • Maintain supplies in work area and re-order as needed.
  • Assure product quality. Report any problems/concerns and/or questions with product quality immediately to Production Manager.
  • Complete all needed production paperwork as required in Quality Manual – R05, R06, R07, R09, R10, R14, R18, R21 and R30.
  • Remove trash as needed throughout shift and at the end of each shift.
  • Break down empty boxes in area.

Qualifications of Machine Operator:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1+ years of relevant machine operating experience
  • Basic Math Skills - simple math computations
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic food safety knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Self-motivated/team player
