JSG is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor (2nd shift) to join the team in Moorpark, CA.

The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for all machining processes within the shop. This candidate will be tasked with ensuring all areas of production are meeting department goals. Key components of this position will be reporting to machine shop management, troubleshooting production issues, working with machinists, programmers and quality to identify and execute process improvements. Strong emotional intelligence that can drive change and hold teams accountable is a key for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the machine shop.
  • Responsible for mentoring, leading, training staff and reviewing job performance.
  • Implementing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritizing workflow throughout the shop with all machines.
  • Ability to evaluate blueprints and develop machining strategy.
  • Reporting and tracking of daily progress on all machines.
  • Recording and scheduling machine maintenance.
  • Monitor labor hours, overtime, and approve timecards.
  • Review shop orders, coordinate tooling and material.
  • Verifying parts by using precision measuring equipment.
  • Changing tools and offsets based in cutting conditions when running CNC.
  • Understanding proper feeds, speeds, and other cutting parameters based on work piece material.
  • Ability to lead in the troubleshooting of CNC programming and production related issues on the shop floor.

?Requirements :

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Well versed in GD&T and inspection procedures and processes.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to communicate technical instructions with engineering department.
  • Minimum High school education or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal fashion.
  • Must be able to meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements
