Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Contract Engineering and Technical Staffing firm specializing in Engineering and Manufacturing. We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager who oversees the total manufacturing process and sub departments as it relates to engineering, tooling, maintenance, and automation to meet business enterprise strategies. Leads the continuous improvement objectives of the Engineering, Tooling, and Maintenance team in accordance with defined measurables required to directly reflect the overall cost control of the organization. Supports and drives talent management and leadership development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies that the Engineering, Tooling and Maintenance departments are in compliance to company standards.
  • Provides leadership throughout the area of his/her responsibilities as it relates to the budget and the strategic business plan.
  • Communicates with suppliers necessary for product manufacturing process, tooling, maintenance, and launch success.
  • Direct and motivate subordinates to be successful through team dynamics.
  • Work closely with Top Management to recommend greater advancements within the process of manufacturing operations.
  • Provide information and benchmarks for continuous improvement throughout all areas of the manufacturing process.
  • Report monthly to the Management Review meetings and report key measurables.
  • Facilitate PM’s and systems to support proper tooling and equipment maintenance.
  • Hold periodic meetings at the discretion of the manager to address the growing changes required to advance the areas of manufacturing processes and related subordinates.
  • Cross functional understanding between Production Manager and Sr. Quality Supervisor will be required to ensure that total agreement is reasoned out prior to proceeding with ongoing changes.
  • Maintain high standards for developing subordinates, provide the necessary training, teamwork, and guidelines to ensure that all personnel that report to the manager have the ability for future growth.
  • Oversee the expense of purchased items, inventories, and capital expenditures that relate to the management area of responsibility within budgetary and financial guidelines.
  • Provide the future requirement of equipment as it relates to the manager’s area of responsibility.
  • Create and foster the attitude that change can happen through proper understanding and leadership.
  • Report the necessary data and information to Top Management so that intuitive decisions can be made as it relates to, but not all inclusive to, support departments, new and existing manufacturing processes, and the overall cost effectiveness of the related area of management responsibility.
  • Directs and ensures adherence to the company environmental policy, procedures, and management systems through the ISO14001 standards. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for maintaining legal & regulatory environmental compliance for the Hebron facility.
  • Support the needs of the company so it can continue to supply highly engineered quality products to our valued customers.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards and related quality policies.


  • Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in various engineering areas with progressive managerial responsibility.
  • Experience within the automotive sector, preferably with plastic injection molding background.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop personnel in accordance to our technology and service sector.
  • Considerable skill is required in interpersonal relations and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to directly interfacing with customers and senior executives will be necessary on a regular basis.
  • Due to the nature of the product being manufactured, specialized training in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, and 8D's is necessary.
  • Ability to maintain budgetary numbers therefore, it’s imperative that basic financial abilities are proven.

This position functions within a plastic injection-molding environment. The Manufacturing Manager must observe safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take in case of problems.

Individual must be able to sit or stand for full manufacturing shift, ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities and able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
