JSG is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a contract opportunity in Moorpark, CA. 

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic’s responsibilities include performing regular inspection of machinery and equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, and fulfilling other duties in the test lab as assigned. The equipment used in the test lab may include, but is not limited to:

  • Thermal vacuum systems
    • Cryogenic pumps, Turbo molecular pumps, dry mechanical pumps
  • Thermal chambers
  • Liquid nitrogen lines
  • Vibration equipment (shakers)
  • Mechanical shock machines

Primary responsibility will be the repair and preventative maintenance of environmental test equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will assist the Maintenance Technician in hands-on troubleshooting, procuring replacement parts (as needed), performing preventative maintenance and documenting all work done on the test equipment. Occasional heavy lifting and overtime may be required. Some additional responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals
  • Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Complying with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant field/discipline
  • Candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team environment and interface with individuals at multiple levels in the organization
  • Interpersonal skills: This is required to clearly communicate with other employees and build relationships with employees, supervisors/managers, customers, as well as outside contractors
  • Communication skills: Oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. It is also required for writing routine reports and correspondence such as e-mails
  • Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems involving the isolation of the malfunction parts, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of faulty components
