Pharmacy Technician’s Level 2 – Level 4:  Up to 100% travel, expenses paid!  40 hours per week

Location:  Alabama

Johnson Service Group is seeking to fill Pharmacy Technician roles in various locations to provide support coverage training on our client’s equipment, conduct competency reviews, and provide direction for improving site specific operations and efficiencies. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for learning the important terminology and components of automation equipment, prepare and maintain the automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports. The Pharmacy Technician will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns and report to the Pharmacy Services Manager. This position carries the responsibility for the successful completion of all operational tasks.

•     Perform automation tasks in an aseptic, error free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.

•     Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.

•     Responsible for identifying/ordering medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.

•     Perform automation equipment cleaning, maintenance, and optimization as required.

•     Responsible for monitoring and ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.

•     Responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of automation equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the TAC/HD.

•     Maintain a high level of communication with the pharmacy services manager and customer, to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.

•     Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism and responsiveness, by acting as liaison between our client and customer to assist with customer concerns.

•     Conduct training and ensure completion of all required documents and compliance with all Pharmacy Services procedures and policies.

•     Must be available to travel up to 100% of the time to various customer locations.

•     Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses, per our customer’s travel policy.

•     Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.

•     Maintain national certification and all state required credentialing.

•     Act as a resource for team members, providing training and/or assistance either on site or remotely to ensure optimal workflow.

Must meet minimum requirements:

  • All need to be Pharmacy technicians with a current (in date) National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
  • Must have a pharmacy technician registration within the state that the position will be located.   Additional state registrations are preferred or candidates willing to apply for additional state registration.
  • IV compounding experience is needed 1 year.
  • Must be able to travel for training and daily work every week or stay in a location for weeks at a time. We are attempting to keep these positions regionalized due to state registration limitations but must be willing and able to travel by plane (expenses paid for by our customer) if needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation and good driving record
  • Must have ability to incur incidental expenses via credit card but will be reimbursed
  • Advanced Troubleshooting Skills with automation devices
  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques
  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements
  • Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications
  • Project management/implementation experience
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Techniques

  • Pharmacy environment.
  • Capable of standing for several hours at a time.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.
  • Able to lift 25-30 lbs.

Required Knowledge and Skills

•     Ability to work with mechanical equipment.

•     Working knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint

Pharm Tech 2 Basic Qualifications

•             High school diploma or GED

•             Current State Board of Pharmacy registration, if required

•             Two years of experience working in related field

•             Working knowledge of pharmacy automation

•             Working knowledge of pharmacy automation

Pharm Tech 4 Basic Qualifications

•             High school diploma or GED

•             Current PTCB Certification

•             A self-starter who is able to work independently and follow a detailed plan.

•             Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with customers and    with employees at various levels.

•             Ability to assist with analysis of training needs and to conduct training sessions.

•             Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry

•             Working Knowledge of pharmacy automation

•             Ability to travel up to 100% of the time (or more than 80%)
