Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Contract Engineering and Technical Staffing firm specializing in Engineering and Manufacturing. We are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager who is responsible to coordinate, track, and maintain the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual objectives to support the profitable operation of the business unit. Develop subordinates through talent management and leadership development. To lead and contribute to the development and attainment of the company’s strategic business plan.

The following accountabilities are to be performed in accordance with the spirit and philosophy contained in the company’s Mission Statement and in accordance with company policies:

  • Develop and manage monthly business unit financial statements to meet revenue, variable margin, and gross profit objectives.
  • Create a team focus with total throughput and customer interface, as necessary.
  • Effectively lead and develop staff, establishing an effective working relationship, effectively evaluating performance, and coaching them to develop their capabilities.
  • Create and foster the attitude that change can happen through proper understanding and leadership.
  • Act as continuous improvement champion and look for ways to improve efficiencies and processes, including generating innovative or creative methods of completing work.
  • Ensure compliance to company safety and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems.
  • Responsible for providing the proper support to the business unit via both internal and/or external resources.
  • Ensure cleanliness and 6S standards are met throughout the facility.
  • Report monthly to the Management Review meetings and report key measurables.
  • Oversee the expense of purchased items, inventories, and capital expenditures within budgetary and financial guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards and related quality policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Business Management or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in various areas with progressive managerial responsibility.
  • The experience should be within the automotive sector, preferably with plastic injection molding background.
  • Problem solving and process analysis skills along with the ability to effectively lead problem solving teams. Leadership and interpersonal skills are required to interface effectively with our customers.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop personnel. Considerable skill is required in interpersonal relations and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Direct interfacing with customers and senior executives will be necessary on a regular basis.
  • Required to maintain budgetary numbers therefore, it is imperative that basic financial abilities are proven.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Human Relations:

This position works within established guidelines under the general direction of the
Operations Manager receiving written and oral instructions. Primary contact for this position will be management, supervisors, quality, maintenance, human resources, and engineering positions to serve in a leadership and advisory capacity to employees reporting to this position. Therefore, it is essential that the Plant Manager possess good communication skills, as well as maintain confidentiality, flexibility, and professionalism.

This position functions within a plastic injection-molding environment. The Plant Manager must observe safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take in case of problems.

Individual must be able to sit or stand for full manufacturing shift, ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities and able to lift to 25 pounds frequently.
