Johnson Service Group is looking for a Principal IC Test Engineer for one of our Clients in Phoenix, AZ.  One will have the opportunity to research product technical requirements, validate its performance characteristics, and then developing effective test solutions for high volume manufacturing. You will work collaboratively with design and applications engineers on the product definition, evaluation, qualification, testing and eventually releasing to production.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop semiconductor test plans that enable high volume/low-cost solutions for production test. Detail the project tasks, schedule, budget expectations and deliverables.
  • Work with design and application engineers to define testability requirements to ensure controllability and observability needs are met to support characterization and manufacturing test.
  • Utilize Automated Test Equipment to validate new product designs. Communicate performance findings to technical peers and the development team.
  • Develop test programs, analyze data results, and generate supporting documentation.
  • Confirm that the appropriate process guidelines, specifications, and strategies have been properly implemented into test plans, test programs and test hardware.
  • Design interface and measurement circuits that enhances tester capabilities and insure compatibility with new product requirements.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing sites to ensure production hardware solutions and programs are released within the expected delivery dates.
  • Manage the design, fabrication, and debug of PCB hardware that will be used during product validation. This includes schematic generation, component selection, and PCB layout review.
  • Attend relevant test conferences, industry shows, and/or seminars to keep abreast of industry testing standards, etc.

Qualifications

  • BSEE or higher degree with 7+ years related test engineering experience in analog & digital test development
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment preferably Eagle/Teradyne Test systems, included ETS364, ETS88, ETS300, ETS800.
  • Advanced knowledge in PCB design, Layout techniques, and High Voltage ATE loadboard designs including strong knowledge of Signal and Power integrity principles
  • Proficient in using schematic design, PCB layout and circuit simulation tools like Mentor Graphics, PADS, Orcad PSPise, Simplis, LTSpice or equivalent
  • Strong background of statistical data analysis with tools such as Excel or JMP or equivalent
  • Programming in high level languages such as C, C++, SQL, Visual Studio
  • Able to manage priorities of multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • Able to utilize engineering test equipment like oscilloscopes, meter, and power sources to debug test setup
  • Experience with bench measurement instrumentation, Spectrum Analyzer and Oscilloscopes
  • Knowledge of ATPG, scan chain insertion and DFT development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable travelling to manufacturing assembly and test locations
