Johnson Service Group is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for Swing Shift 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Occasional Overtime is needed. 


  • Performs testing and inspections of products to ensure products released to customers meet acceptance criteria as specified in work instructions.
  • Uses test equipment and computers as required to test production functionality.
  • Creates test outputs, data files, reports, and records to document product performance.
  • Rejects products that fail production testing.
  • Performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of defective products.
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required.
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Uses standard hand tools (i.e. pliers, torque drivers, torque wrenches and screwdrivers).
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards as specified in procedures and the quality system. Reports any quality related problems to management. Accurately and completely fills out production checklists, quality documents, and travelers as required.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Adheres to ESD controls when handling ESD sensitive components.
  • Completes all work in a safe and compliant manner. Keeps workstations organized and neat (5S). Independently identifies potential safety risks and reports to management.
  • Performs training of other associates. Diagnoses readiness of trainees to be able to work independently.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic communication skills. Ability to read, write, interpret drawings and prints, and verbally communicate. Communicates effectively through use of email and other forms of electronic communication.
  • Possession of manual dexterity required to assemble products quickly and accurately. Knowledge of computers and test equipment used in production environment.
  • Ability to work with computers, enter data, and navigate screens. Proficient with job specific computer applications such as ERP systems, databases, computer-based test equipment.
  • Minimum of 3 years Production Test or equivalent experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP, agile, Oracle, etc.)
  • Knowledge of 5S program/good manufacturing practices
  • ESD prevention and Microsoft office
  • Technical training or associate degree in technical field.

Work Conditions:

  • Manufacturing Environment.
  • Fast paced work environment requiring standing for extended periods of time, squatting, and working within constrained spaces. Regularly performs repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Works effectively independently and in teams.
