Quality Manager – Manufacturing / Fortune 500

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for a Quality Manager for our client’s Winchester, VA area operation.  This is a Direct Hire position with a competitive salary with Bonus, fantastic benefits and relocation assistance available.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Fortune 500 industry leader.

The Quality Manager leads, coordinates, and performs activities associated with the Quality Management System (QMS) as it relates to manufacturing. This includes responsibility for all process control, tracking scrap, quality continuous improvement, strategic processes and programs related to manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all quality activities and initiatives related to manufacturing
  • Drive the compliance of all product regulatory and audit activities
  • Support the quality management system where applicable within the internal sites
  • Support the electronic quality database within current quality management system
  • Implement and support quality policies, procedures, and quality system development as required for plant operations and suppliers
  • Drive the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and coordination of prototype, pre-launch, and launch part qualification runs with suppliers and manufacturing
  • Review, conduct and approve Quality Control Plans, process flow diagrams, Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA), Gage R&R’s
  • Maintain quality metrics Material Non-conformances, PPAP performance, etc…
  • Manage and develop direct report(s)
  • Manage quality customer complaint process and metrics (customer & consumer)
  • Develop quality metric goals annually and provide KPI reports for category performance and product quality
  • Drive measurement techniques and statistical data analysis techniques
  • Conduct audits and report findings to determine proper corrective and preventive actions

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in quality engineering / quality management
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or science discipline
  • operations/manufacturing experience preferred
  • Supplier quality experience
  • Hands on experience with Lean and Six Sigma
  • Management experience and the proven ability to work in a matrix organization required
  • Thorough knowledge of quality methods and systems (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing)
  • ISO/QS/TS quality system working knowledge and auditing experience
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential for dealing with all levels of internal and external suppliers and customers
  • ASQ certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) is preferred
  • An experienced background in various types of manufacturing.  Specific knowledge in the plastics, metals, or electrical commodities is preferred
