Johnson Service Group, a national recruiting firm, is assisting our global manufacturing client with a Reliability Engineer near Waukesha, WI. The incumbent will perform failure analysis and reliability tests at the system, circuit board, and component level to determine root cause of failures and drive towards corrective actions. Analyzing production and field failure data seeking patterns and trends to proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve quality and reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on inverter and enclosed products returned as field failures or production rejects.
    • Includes testing functionality of the assembled product, subassemblies, printed circuit boards, and testing at component level
  • Support prioritization of cases for failure analysis based on quality problems, global inputs, and FA (Failure Analysis) data. Analyze data to look for trends in production and field for further analysis to minimize potential impact of issues
  • Drive continuous improvement in the FA laboratory
  • Use various electrical and mechanical test equipment, environmental chambers, and motor dynes to perfume failure analysis and reliability tests
  • Collaborate with fellow reliability engineers, both locally and globally to support resolution of difficult cases and work with R&D, Product Engineering, Suppliers, Production Quality, and Technical Support to ensure corrective actions are taken based on failure Analysis findings
  • Work with the global supplier base towards more reliable component designs
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with reliability engineering required
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis & reliability
  • Six Sigma
  • Hands-on electrical fault isolation and physical failure analysis 
  • Ability to use advanced test equipment
  • Experience with circuit and PCB design and AC motor drives preferred
