Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Field Engineer (Smart Plant 3D Modeler) for a 6+ month contract assignment with Bechtel National in Oak Ridge, TN.  This role offers a W2 hourly base rate (time and a half for overtime) + per diem and mobilization/demobilization.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Project Overview:
This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) in Oak Ridge, TN. The UPF Construction project works on various schedules with differing start times pending project needs, and may require employees to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and/or night shift as business needs arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists supervision with design of temporary construction facilities via field sketches and ensures preparation of 'as built' drawings and other job plans
  • Produces Electrical Physical Design and 3D modeling drawings and documentation
  • Capable of independent creative design (with direction)
  • Responsible for field run conduit routing and design, support location and layout, and interference checking
  • Physically walking down proposed conduit routes for best possible routing
  • Coordinate with all areas of the project and to priorities discussed with Field Supervision
  • Use of SetRoute, TeamWorks, and other Project databases

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred
  • 6+ years of Smart Plant 3D design experience or 12+ years related experience in lieu of degree
  • Knowledge of physically routing commodities and field / construction support experience
  • Knowledge and experience of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required
  • Working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as NEC 2012, NESC C2-2012, IEEE, RUS as well as NQA-1 requirements
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety programs highly preferred
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site
  • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities:
    • extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding
    • using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • walking on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent commercial nuclear experience at a Bechtel EPC Project
  • Experience in reviewing field drawings/plans of different disciplines and may include P&ID’s and SLD’s
  • Working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes Procedures (SWPPs) and the related Bechtel Standard application Programs (BSAP’s)
  • Knowledge of physically routing conduits and raceway
  • Knowledge of cable pulls, routing, and planning
