Johnson Service Group is recruiting for a, Senior Electrical NEC Inspector, for a 6-month contract assignment with Bechtel National working at the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) in a Oak Ridge, TN.

Local candidates preferred – Bechtel is not offering standard per diem.  U.S. Citizenship required.

Role Overview:

  • Serving in a Construction Electrical Field Engineering/Electrical Code Inspector position
  • Ensure assigned UPF Electrical based commodities and equipment are in compliance with NFPA 70-2014
  • Responsible for the inspection of electrical installation activities including:
    • Interface with the ECAHJ Interfacing with CNS Y12 (Plant Operations)
    • Limited Interfacing with the STR’s to support the Subcontractor
  • Reviewing design documents for constructability
  • Use of SetRoute, BPS, TeamWorks, etc.
  • Monitoring equipment installation
  • Reviews specifications, instruction manuals, and technical data

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 6 - 9 years of progressive related experience
  • Requires a current certification as a National Electric Code Inspector and a working knowledge of current design codes and standards, such as NFPA 70-2014
  • Knowledge and experience of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects
  • Must have a working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes Procedures (SWPP’s) and the related Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAP’s).
  • Requires a working knowledge of construction engineering practices
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education
  • Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite
  • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent commercial nuclear experience at a Bechtel EPC Project
  • Recent experience as an Electrical Field Engineer
  • Experience in reviewing field drawings/plans of different disciplines and may include P&ID’s
  • Previous experience with SetRoute (Bechtel Software)
