Johnson Service Group is seeking a Senior Quality Control Engineer for our Power design and manufacturing client in the Columbia, MO area. This role is responsible for inspecting, sampling, and testing company products, parts, and materials to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.


  • Conduct independent research on projects of major significance, typically involving conceptual studies, sophisticated analytical techniques, with novel and unconventional approaches.
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with inspection equipment such as gages, measuring instruments, electrical and chemical test equipment
  • Plan, assemble and present data on projects of complex operational nature, with related performance schedules, economic justification, benefits analysis and recommendations to senior management and customers,
  • Coordinate quality initiatives at customer sites, lead and perform internal audits, assist the customer in performing other quality related activities. Counsel suppliers and customers, recommending changes as appropriate to improve quality and optimize their operations
  • Provide technical guidance to quality engineers planning or reviewing technical aspects of inquiries, proposals, and purchase orders.
  • Define and develop quality assurance programs while providing technical guidance in specialized quality assurance technology for inspection and testing, metrology, statistical techniques, quality specifications.


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 8+ years of experience. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work within the US.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially with data analysis, is heavily preferred – proven experience working with failure analysis, FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), Control Plans, Standardized Work, test engineering, and/or product reliability is a plus
  • Recent experience working with data-driven analytical methodologies for industrial quality applications – especially Statistical Process Control [SPC], Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance (Pp, PpK) Analysis
  • Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g. Kaizen, 4Q, DMAIC, Gemba/Genba, Root-Cause Analysis [RCA]; etc.) Strong familiarity with ISO-9001 standards is preferred; expertise in IATF 16949 will also be considered
  • Experience working with transformer systems and/or related technologies (e.g. electromagnetics / magnetics, induction systems, power electronics, power products, inverters, etc.)
