Sr. Software Developer - Java / DoD
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for a Sr. Software Developer for our client’s project near the Aberdeen, MD area. The position is setup as a long-term contract (contract to hire) opportunity with competitive pay and telework options. Responsibilities:
- Support the established team in the design, deployment, and integration of software build automation/continuous integration tools that facilitate the post production support of software and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Support the current agile software development tools that facilitate continuous integration and continuous delivery of the software maintained.
- Provide infrastructures services and support, troubleshooting and help desk services while interacting with users (tier 2&3) and applications administration.
- Analyze current technologies and recommend cutting edge solution to fulfill current and future requirements.
- Participate in and contribute to the success of the analysis, planning, deployment, test, and integration of novel DevSecOps technologies into the infrastructure such that the mission and goals will remain attainable in a rapidly growing technological environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience building cross-platform applications
- Computing environment certification w/in 6 months
- 1+ yr CI/CD pipeline experience (such as Jenkins or GitLab)
- 3+ yr Java programming experience, including Unit Testing
- Experience with the SDLC, to include use of software source code control systems, artifact repositories and code assessment tools
- Excellent understanding of DevSecOps and best practices
- Strong knowledge in planning and performing in an Agile work environment with a focus on Agile development practices
- Experience using project planning software (such as Jira and Confluence)
- Exceptional technical troubleshooting skill (applications, services, servers, networking, etc.)
- Excellent verbal communications skills
- Effective writing to produce documentation for technicians, and users
- Must have Security + Certification
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass background investigation
