JSG Professional Services is looking for multiple Embedded Systems Developers for one of our Clients in Ontario.  This position will primarily involve developing embedded systems solution for hardware centric building blocks related to audio DSP and wireless communication integrated circuits for ultra-low power solutions.


  • Contribute to hardware-centric firmware components including:
    • Boot ROMs and Bootloaders
    • Low-level system libraries and related sample applications
    • Low-level hardware abstraction layers
  • Contribute to system level validation of ICs.
  • Contribute to system architecture of wireless and/or DSP platforms including providing input to IC architecture, board-level system design and defining interactions between hardware & software.
  • Provide technical content for end user documentation related to hardware and systems blocks.
  • Support customer issues or requests.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably with specialization in embedded systems, communications protocols, or digital signal processing.
  • 5+ years of experience working with embedded systems with focus on low-level firmware development.
  • Strong embedded system development skills with experience in C and/or assembly language.
  • Good knowledge of microprocessor architecture including memory sub-systems, interrupts & typical peripherals such as timers, UART, I2C, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of embedded system design at the board & IC levels.
  • Experience in system evaluation using FPGA prototype platform.
  • Experience with wireless technologies.
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols and familiarity with Bluetooth wireless protocol stack is an asset.
  • Experience in using standard lab equipment for testing, taking measurements & debugging systems
  • Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python.
  • Experience in developing test automation would be an asset.
  • Detail-oriented and quality conscious throughout development cycle.
  • Experience in developing solutions to quality-driven processes or standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
