Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Professional Staffing and Recruiting firm that is currently looking for a Structural Engineer out in Charlotte, NC. This is a great opportunity with a nationwide engineering firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Structural Engineering duties in the Management of the Project’s workforce, finances, and materials used on the specific project.
  • Responsible for design and safety of temporary structures used during construction.
  • Applying basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts in development of engineering design packages.
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis.
  • Perform or oversee soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations.
  • Test building materials, such as concrete, asphalt, or steel, for use in specific projects.
  • Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility.
  • Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a four-year college or university with focus in Structural Design Courses.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred or passed/plant to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • 3 - 10+ years of Structural Engineering experience in the Power and/or Industrial industry.
  • Complex Problem Solving (STEM).
  • May be required to work in an office, as well as in a power plant environment
