Job Description

JSG is seeking a Senior Accountant with Healthcare Experience.
This is a remote position. Must be in the Pacific Time Zone- West Coast. 
Salary range $100,000-$120,000

The Senior Accountant assists in the maintenance and balancing of the general ledger and fixed asset ledger and in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the accounting systems in order to the control the organization’s assets and provide complete and accurate financial information/records.  Prepares reports for use by top management to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, etc. 

Responsibilities:
•             Prepares reports for use by top management to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, etc.
•             Supervise the Accounting Technicians as need as well as perform other related responsibilities as requested
•             Oversees preparation of various governmental reports, including quarterly payroll and sales tax returns, and annual forms 1099 and W-2, and related correspondence.
•             Directly responsible for the stability, quality and integrity of the General Ledger and related records and internal control environment under the supervision of the Assistant Controller/Controller.
•             Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, assists in the monthly and year-end closes, recording of routine and unusual transactions, and direction and support for the payroll and accounts payable functions
•             Participates in strategic planning and budgeting processes and develops action plans that ensure that both the department or service unit and the organization achieve annual objectives.
•             Participates in cross-functional team planning to address Hospital needs and maintain control of both cost and quality of service.
•             Provides accurate financial information/records.
•             Prepares reports for top management to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, etc.
•             Assists in managing the hospital financial resources by establishing, communicating, and implementing the long-range financial parameters of a financially sound operation.  Prepares regular reports outlining the hospital’s financial position in all areas of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses bases on past, present, and future operations.
•             Performs monthly bank reconciliations.
•             Assists other department personnel in the development of spreadsheets to increase efficiencies of repetitive analysis and calculation.
•             Assists the Controller on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•             Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance required
•             CPA license preferred.
•             A minimum of five or more years’ experience in the accounting or audit field.  Healthcare accounting experience required.
•             Ability to operate office equipment, including printers, copiers, computers, adding machine, and fax machines
•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with public, patients, co-workers, and Hospital management.
•             Above average analytical/reasoning and organizational skills, as well as data processing knowledge and skills.
•             Familiar with budgeting systems/concepts, spreadsheet, and other software.
•             Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as applied to the health care field. Financial statement analysis and preparation.
•             Must be able to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense.
•             Assumes active role in the department’s Continuous Performance Improvement Program.  Develops, implements, and assesses Continuous Performance Improvement efforts   as assigned.
