Job Description


Our client is seeking a Senior AWS Architect responsible for leading end-to-end AWS cloud architecture design, driving scalable and secure multi-region solutions, and providing technical governance and leadership across cross-functional teams. (Hybrid, Toronto)

Must Have skills
  • Strong application development background using technologies such as Java/Spring ecosystem, Python, or Node.js, with hands-on coding experience.
  • Strong AWS expertise, with proven experience in designing, architecting, and implementing cloud solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in migrating or modernizing on-premise applications to AWS cloud-based architectures, including at least a few real-world implementations.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns, scalability, resilience, and security best practices on AWS.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools for automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-native solutions.

Nice to have skills
  • Prior Hands-on AWS Implementation Experience – 5+ years
  • AWS Security & Compliance Frameworks (Well-Architected, IAM, etc.) – 5+ years
  • DevOps & CI/CD Exposure – 4+ years
  • Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform) – 4+ years
  • Financial Services Domain Experience – 4+ years
  • Architecture Roadmap & Cloud Migration Strategy – 5+ years

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end AWS architecture design for scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions.
  • Drive architecture decisions, including cost optimization, performance tuning, and security considerations.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust cloud solutions.
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and governance standards.
  • Produce structured solution design documents, diagrams, and architecture roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams implementing the solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and cloud governance frameworks.
  • Present and communicate architectural strategies to clients and senior stakeholders.
