Job Description
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional recruiting firm that is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a medical provider in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The A/R Specialist will assist with medical billing issues, handle claims and collections.
Responsibilities:
- Following up on medical bills and claims that have been sent to insurance carriers.
- Collecting on issued bills for equipment and services to ensure timely payment
- Appealing denied claims
- Verifying the status of medical claims
- Researching and re-billing unpaid claims
- Requesting payment from insurance carriers
- Communicating and receiving data from insurance carriers
Qualifications:
- Ability to understand group insurance policies and how billing fits within each policy
- Well versed with "Out-of-Network" providers
- Able to handle as many as 100 claims per day
- Comfortable with phone/computer communication
- Assertive phone demeanor when corresponding with insurance carriers
- Basic knowledge of medical codes
- Ability to learn quickly and take direction
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Team Player willing to support others in the department
Additional Information:
- Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5:00pm
