Architectural Designer – Revit / AutoCAD

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for an Architectural Designer for our client in the Louisville, KY area. This is a direct hire position with a competitive salary and great benefits.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family-oriented company that’s growing significantly.

Responsibilities:
  • Create the project model in Autodesk Revit or AutoCad, including preparation of proposal drawings, approval drawings, shop drawings, and final field use drawings.
  • Generate RFI’s to assist job clarity on an as needed basis.
  • Review drawings, plans, specifications and other customer documentation.
  • Attend and participate in project specific meetings to determine the most efficient project design while following scope of work, and coordinate with internal and construction schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement (value engineering) and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of company products and their applicability to project requirements.
  • Shows dimensions, material to be used and other information necessary to make detailed drawing clear and complete.
  • Communicate details/complexities to ensure an accurate release of information to manufacturing.
  • Operates in a cross-functional capacity; as workflow demands change it may be necessary to support other production requirements as part of the project team.
  • Works to help reduce errors and improve drawing standards for external and internal use.
  • Watches to make sure own project task follows key metric’s; Correct, On Time, and On Budget.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of Architectural Design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with an educational background in architecture or engineering. Preference towards Architectural CADD degreed program or similar. Will also consider combinations of education and relevant experience.
  • Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and/or previous experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, Revit, and familiarity with other 3D software and Bluebeam Revu, and Office Products.
  • A general understanding of construction practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate a small project (or defined portion of a larger project) from concept through construction documentation.
  • Self-starter who is focused, articulate, well organized, and detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
