Johnson Service Group is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer for one of our Clients in San Jose. The Assistant Engineer I/II - Civil would provide necessary support to the Project Manager on a Flood Protection Project (FPP).
Responsibilities:
Assist with engineering design tasks for final construction documents (PS&E)
Provide QA/QC of construction documents, value engineering, real estate acquisition (TCE’s), permitting, CPRU coordination (Google and others), advertisement/bid for construction, and construction administration support for the FPP.
Provide technical support in all phases of engineering projects including planning, design, construction, and close-out.
Prepare engineering specifications, drawings, sketches, and other supporting documentation for proposed engineering projects; review drawings, plans, and other work submitted by external consultants, engineers, contractors, and developers for conformance with professional codes.
Qualifications:
Candidate shall have a civil engineering or related degree Or Possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience, with preference given to an Engineer In Training working towards registration or Professional Engineering registration.
1 - 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
Knowledge and experience using GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preference given to candidates who have completed formal AutoCAD/Civil 3D training.
Knowledge and familiarity with preparing final construction documents (PS&E), design reports, technical memos, and preparing environmental/regulatory permits.
Ability to conduct comprehensive engineering studies, investigations, and analyses.
Rate starting at $44.00 DOE
