Our Client is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to assist with the day to day deliverables for an industry leader in miscellaneous metals, architectural metals, and structural steel.Â
The Assistant Plant Manager will assist to ensure that all projects are completed on time, and meet high quality standards. The Assistant Plant Manager will work closely with our Plant Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources and timeframes for projects.
The chosen candidate will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and maintaining project documentation. To succeed in this role, you should be a self-starter with strong competency to work independently, and have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with other employees to deliver results within deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Plant Manager in all aspects of projects from start to finish.
Review drawings to determine compliance with design.
Attend coordination meetings.
Prepare requisitions for material orders.
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure the project is completed within the determined deadline.
Schedule deliveries and coordinate plant labour.
Keep up-to-date records of submittals and review drawings.

Must Have Skills
Professional experience working in the environment of steel fabrication and/or construction, welding, structures
Experience with estimating complex projects
Experience in construction projects keeping within the expected scope, quality, schedule, and budget
Experience with full lifecycle of a project, onset to completion
Experience reading drawings, and measurements
Experience working with spreadsheets and creating status reports
Nice to Have
Manufacturing or fabrication experience would be an asset
