Johnson Service Group is seeking an Aviation GSE for a contract assignment.  This role is in Salinas, CA .
Previous experience as a heavy equipment field mechanic, diesel mechanic, or farm equipment mechanic
Welding & fabrication experience (preferred)Â
Class A CDL (bonus qualification, not required)Â
What You’ll Do:
 Be responsible for servicing and maintaining all Flight Test Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly GSE maintenance schedules ensuring all equipment is functional, clean, and organized
 Support Archer’s scheduled vendor services such as fuel delivery and site services ensuring no gaps in coverage
 Ensures a clean, organized, and professional workplace up to 5S standards, FOD prevention, and tool control.
Ensure that products, parts, supplies, and consumables for GSE are adequately stocked to meet Flight Testing operations
 Provide plans and status updates back to the Airfi eld Ground Operations Manager on assigned projects
 Provide input on the design and fabrication of GSE & fi xturing from a perspective of hands on repairability and maintainability
Maintain charge, & ground handling equipment for the aircraft ensuring they are ready for daily fl ight test operations.
Follow Flight Test safety policies and procedures for ground operations as a part of Archers Safety Management System
Maintain GSE maintenance records required by FAA regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and company policy
Work from a variety of technical materials such as blueprints, schematics, handbooks, drawings, and work orders providing feedback as required Facilities repair/reporting and follow up on corrections
 Meet scheduled timelines and, in some cases, aggressive deadlines to meet project milestones
Assume any duties as delegated by the Airfi eld Ground Operations Manager
Requirement:
5+ years of experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) & heavy equipment
 Previous experience in the aerospace industry
Driving of aircraft tugs, carts, and lifts within an airport environment
Advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems
Experience working with high voltage systems
 Knowledge of wiring techniques and best practices (crimping, routing, securing, etc.)
 A collaborative attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate and build cross-functional relationships
 Work with all levels of personnel and effectively interact with technicians and engineers
 Excellent planning and organization skills, including the ability to adapt and overcome issues
 Experience operating and maintaining specifi c machines
 Battery systems
Service trucks and trailers
 Forklifts
Golf carts
Large and small generators
The ability to push/pull lift up to 75lbs at times
 Ability to drive continuous improvement activities to exceed expectations and help promote a professional shop and organized environment
Working Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and in indoor and outdoor environments
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time
