JSG is recruiting for a Benefits Manager (Health – Retirement)

Location: Clewiston, FL (33440) - ONSITE
Position Summary
Reports to the Director of Compensation and Benefits.
Works independently or in a team to develop, implement, administer and maintain benefit and retirement programs, policies and procedures.
Requires ensuring the programs meet employee needs, align with business objectives, and comply with legal requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate benefits programs through research and analysis of benefits trends and/or vendor management to ensure plans are competitive and compliant.
Manage benefit plan financials, including monthly billing and budget reconciliations for all plans, working closely with Broker and Finance/Accounting departments.
Create, maintain and manage benefits operating procedures.
Lead overall implementation activities for annual open enrollment, new benefit coverage, new carriers, etc.
Preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and other regulatory agencies.
Serve as escalation point for complex benefits inquiries requiring senior level support or intervention.
Ensure proper maintenance of enrollment and claims records for all benefits plans.
Develop benefits communications
Provide statistical and census data for insurance carriers and management.
Lead benefits team to ensure they are meeting deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision; organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks; monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALITIFICATIONS
Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related discipline with 4-6 years of applicable experience.
Candidate with Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification is preferred.
Must have extensive knowledge of working with a variety of benefits concepts, practices and procedures.
Should have at least 2-5 years supervisory experience.
Should possess advanced Excel knowledge.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with others.
Skilled in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP HCM is a strong plus.
Must have good analytical skills, be a self-starter and be well-motivated.
Being bi-lingual is an advantage.
MANAGER NOTES
This position has a 15% target bonus
The position also has a Pension Plan (1y in and 5y vested @ 2%) along with an ESOPH (3y vested)
This role supports 1500 – 1800+ (depending on time of the season) – 3 Locations: (Clewiston, Savannah, GA & some in TX)
Position has 4-5 direct reports (Benefits Specialist / Disability reports / Onboarding / General)
Use Optavise for open enrollment which connects to SAP HC that also handles payroll / deductions and then rolls out to all the benefits vendors. (Need someone who can manage and ensure all this happens)
The position is over Health Benefits, but someone with good retirement experience is also a plus as that would assist him directly.
This position is replacing someone who was better at management and didn’t want to be hands on as well.
***Need someone in this role that is a “WORKING manger” – Strong Excel and understands compliance and regulations.
