Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Chief Mechanical Engineer with one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. This is a contract to direct hire opportunity located in Kirkland, WA.
Pay: $80/hour to $95/hour
As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from helping define scope and staffing hours for proposals; assigning staff to specific projects; providing technical advice and resources; coordinating with other offices on staffing and expertise; checking and approving calculations and documents; ensuring our quality assurance standards are met; developing and mentoring members of your group. Â Â
Advise and assist members of the mechanical group
Support Business development activities as required
Assign staff to projects and forecast future staffing requirements
Coordinate with Chief Engineers in other disciplines
Provide technical resources
Ensure projects are supported
Work with a multi-discipline team, collaborators, and Clients.
Mentor and develop group members
Required Attributes

Ability to perform clear calculations with schematics, references, and assumptions
Experience creating and checking calculations, drawings, and specifications
Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid flow
Familiar working with ASME B31.1 and ASME Section VIII
Basic knowledge of pipe materials, valves, relief valves and control valves
Potential occasional travel
Education and Experience
B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar degree
Fifteen (15) years or more working as an engineer
Experience in engineering design in the energy sector
Experience as technical engineering manager preferred
Experience working in engineering design services preferred
PE license required
