Cisco Network Engineer

Job Description

Our client is searching for Network Engineer candidates with proven experience with Cisco technologies (routers, switches, DNA), voice (Avaya), and networking. Please send your resume if you are interested in this opportunity and want to be considered for the role.

- This W-2 position has a targeted pay rate of $52-$60 per hour (time-and-one-half for overtime hours).
- This is a contract assignment with an initial projected length of 12 months.
- Much of the work can be performed remotely, but candidates must live in the Knoxville or Chattanooga, Tennessee area to be able to support the local office when needed.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage or participate on complex issues impacting network infrastructure
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Cisco router, switch, firewall, UCS, Avaya voice, F5 load balancing, and/or RSA authentication while resolving issues
- Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of a broad range of management, computing, and networking technologies

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business administration, or related field of study; OR, in lieu of a degree, equivalent education, training & experience
- Proven experience with Cisco networking
Experience with some or al of the following technologies: AWS, web proxies, SD WAN, Cisco DNA Center
- Proven ability to work with or lead a cross-functional team of IT professionals
- Demonstrated in-depth working knowledge of high availability systems and/or critical infrastructure
- Several years of comprehensive experience in supporting the operation of large, multi-dimensional systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of transformation impact, change management, and business metrics
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and intervention skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to challenge and influence teams in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while dealing diplomatically with internal and external partners
- Ability to obtain and maintain elevated clearances such as Fitness for Duty, NERC CIP, and/or Sensitive

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with F5 Load Balancing technologies
