Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently seeking a Coding Specialist for a medical provider in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Summary:
Assign codes to different services, using ICD and CPT codes
Familiar with 1500 form and codes associated with that form
Comfortable working with up to 250 insurance companies and staying up to date on their quarterly code changes
Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with insurance regulations
Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
Communicate with other staff regarding documentation
Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
Review the previous day's batch of notes for evaluation and coding
Ensure that all codes are current and active
2+ years’ experience in medical coding and billing or related role

Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5:00pm
