Job Description
Condition Monitoring Field Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Condition Monitoring Field Technician to join our team. This position will primarily involve fieldwork across various site locations in Western Canada, predominantly in Alberta. The successful candidate will utilize a range of technologies such as infrared cameras, ultrasonic equipment, and vibration analysis tools to monitor and assess the condition of our equipment. The role also involves performing dynamic analysis of skid-mounted equipment and conducting engineering acoustical and mechanical studies on compressor packages.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular equipment monitoring using various tools and techniques, including infrared cameras, ultrasonic devices, and vibration analysis.
- Perform field measurement surveys for new and existing facilities predominantly in North America. Travel is expected to be up to 50% of the time.
- Collect vibration, strain, and pulsation measurements to identify sources of concern.
- Conduct data analysis and post-processing of field data.
- Produce detailed vibration analysis reports, providing recommendations for reducing vibration and improving overall design.
- Engage with clients effectively, demonstrating excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical skills.
- Apply industry vibration guidelines, codes, and standards criteria in the preparation of design recommendations.
- Write timely and detailed technical reports on findings and recommendations.
- Adhere to Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies.
- Develop strong customer relationships with a commitment to exceeding expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in condition monitoring.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of monitoring tools such as infrared cameras, ultrasonic equipment, and vibration analysis tools.
- Experience performing dynamic analyses and conducting acoustical and mechanical studies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical skills.
- Ability to travel for work and perform field duties 60-70% of the time.
- Valid driver's license.
The successful candidate will be provided with all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), work equipment, a vehicle, and covers all expenses related to fieldwork. When not in the field, the successful candidate will be based in the Calgary office.
