Johnson Service Group (JSG) has an immediate opening for a Customer Quality Inspector for our client in Chatsworth, CA.
Position Purpose/Summary:
Customer Quality Representative is responsible to validate and reviewing products and materials to ensure they meet customer, company, and industry standards. This position will work with customers and internal departments to conclude quality analysis on products and materials. The Customer Quality Representative will do coaching and counseling inspection by problem solving and analytical thinking.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
• In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all customer quality inspection employees are expected to conform to the following:
Investigate and resolve customer rejections and claims.
• Interpret, investigate, and review quality specifications for validations.
• Handle complaints on non-conforming parts for validation and disposition
• Review and disposition final rejections.
• Provide corrective action and root cause analysis as needed.
• Manage customer quality related issues, waivers, defective parts per million (DPPM), etc. via customer portals.
• Work jointly with customers and suppliers on resolving supplier driven rejections and issues.
• Support inspection teams on clarification of customer quality requirements and flow downs
• Quarantine defective stock while taking measure to ensure the issue is caught and resolved timely.
• Support Supplier Quality inspection teams on supplier corrective actions that pertain to the assigned customer.
• Manage daily customer claims in 48 hours or less.
• Manage customer quality ratings on a monthly basis.
• Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers.
• Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
• Provide interpretations and guidance to final inspectors
• May handle final inspection duties as needed
• Write or author customer specific procedures.
• Give and support special events to mitigate and reduce processes.
• Handle interna and external communications with suppliers and customers.
• Follow corrective action requirements.
• Use precision measuring tools to assist with proper inspection of the product or material.
• Prepares metrics on rejections, claim reports and DPPMs to deliver to management.
• Collaborates with internal and external departments and customers to resolve issues.
• Disposition of customer returned materials
• Review internal quality notifications
• Process and assist with RMA’s
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of direct aerospace fastener experience
• 2+ years of quality inspections, auditing, and test experience
• Experience and proficiency with implementation of corrective action programs
Knowledge:
• SAP ERP knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of various measuring precision tools
• Knowledge of using databases and portals
• Understanding of how to analyze detailed information.
• Demonstrated knowledge of reading blueprint specifications
• In depth knowledge of shop math
• Knowledge and demonstrated capability of reading blueprints and specifications of products and materials.
• Inspection interpretation knowledge
Skills:
• Able to perform internal and external audits autonomously.
• Able to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Basic computer skills like Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrated ability to effectively balance priorities.
• Expert with problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills in prior experience.

Licenses/Certifications:
• Certification as a Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Specialist preferred.
• Certifications in Six Sigma a plus
• Certification on blueprint reading
• Corrective action certifications
Special Succes Factors
• Ensure varying quota numbers at meeting throughout the day.
• Quotas will depend on assigned customer specifications.
Requirements:
• Able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
•Able to perform in non-temperature-controlled environments.
Preferences on Certifications
• Delegated inspection certification
• AS9100 & AS13001 Training or certification
• First article certifications
• Any other inspection related certifications are a plus
Travel up to 15%
Salary $29-$30/hr. w/ $1.00 raise at conversion and $3,500 base bonus.
