JSG is hiring an E&I Superintendent for our client in Maine.Â
Job Duties:
15+ years of Pulp and paper industry experience
Actively supports and promotes safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities, personally encouraging safe behaviors and conducting safety audits and inspections.
Manages the Electrical and Instrumentation of the Madawaska Mill areas using a combination of daily review with maintenance supervisors, planners and technicians as well as spending time on the floor where the incumbent will lead and guide direct reports.
Coordinates E&I activities, repairs and shutdowns and also ensures resources are available to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsible for programs such as preventative maintenance, predictive analysis and basic care.
Applies MOS in daily activities, supports MOS meetings and ensures direct reports do the same.
Attends and supports the daily mill production meeting and participates in other meetings such as safety,, resource planning, and weekend review.
Deals with a variety of outside service representatives and vendors to ensure adequate costing, delivery and quality of services and works closely with the purchasing department to achieve the best cost and quality for supplies required for the areas under the incumbent’s responsibility.
Ensures that both salaried and hourly employees have adequate training to support activities of the department and fulfill future manpower requirements.
Responsible for identifying positions where succession planning is required within the department for both salaried and hourly groups.
Ensures that direct reports are informed of Company activities, results, priorities and operating philosophy so activities and behaviors of members of departments are aligned with the values supported by the organization.
Assists supervisory staff on disciplinary matters and enforcing company policies.
Participates in labor management meetings and grievance meetings and promotes healthy labor relations while ensuring the collective agreement articles are implemented and followed as per the approach supported by the Company.
Is responsible for being on call for maintenance on a rotational basis.
Shall have an awareness of the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP principles and Food Safety Standard.
