Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking four (4) Electrical Field Engineers to support the UPF Project in Oak Ridge, TN. This position offers a W2 hourly pay rate, time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization.

U.S. Citizenship required.
Our client is targeting $50.00/hour for this role.


Position Summary:
This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.  The UPF will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions.

Responsibilities:
  • Directs preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases and perform receipt inspections of materials as required.
  • Ensuring electrical based commodities are installed in compliance with quality standards, design specifications, nuclear codes and standards (including NFPA 70-2014), per project schedule and within budget.
  • Perform construction engineering assignments of a varied nature requiring a working knowledge of construction engineering practices.
  • Interface with DOE and Y-12 Plant Operations personnel.
  • Interface with the STR’s to support the Subcontractor.
  • Reviewing design documents for constructability.
  • Prepare work packages and material takeoffs.
  • Use of SetRoute, BPS, TeamWorks, etc.
  • Assists supervision with the design of temporary construction facilities via field sketches and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
  • Assist supervision with:
    • Scheduling work activities.
    • Interpreting design drawings/documents.
    • Monitoring equipment installation, planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment.
    • Assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.
  • Reviews specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data to assist and advise on?site.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate site management on activities affecting the contract administration operation.
  • Reviews as assigned the preparation of construction estimates, cost, schedules and budgets.
  • Determines that vendors' bids for material and/or equipment are in conformance to specifications.
  • Coordinates the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the Project Controls program at the jobsite.
  • Reviews project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience within DOE, DOD, or commercial nuclear construction projects is required.
    • In lieu of degree 7-9 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as NFPA 70-2014, NQA-1 requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
  • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent commercial nuclear experience at a Bechtel EPC Project.
  • Recent experience as an Electrical Field Engineer or Area Lead Electrical Field Engineer.
  • Experience reviewing field drawings/plans of different disciplines and may include P&ID’s.
  • Working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes Procedures (SWPP’s) and the related Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAP’s).
  • Developing construction work packages.
  • Familiar with Power BI Database.
  • Utilize Project Wise for viewing scoped systems.
  • Familiar with Quantity Unit Rate Report, Code of Accounts, and descriptions.
