Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Pipe Support Engineer, for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. This role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. Our client is targeting $85.00/hour for this role.

Project Overview:
We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. The Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant is located 22 miles northwest of Richland, WA.
Responsibilities:
Leads or administers work to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
Develops designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts and pipe designs from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
Participates in constructability reviews.
Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
Reviews PD&P design scope changes, as required, for project management.
Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
8+ years of experience with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3.
Prior experience using Pipe Support Modeler software preferred.
Prior experience using pipe support analysis program GT Strudel preferred.
Requires ability to work in 3D model environment for extraction of 2D pipe support drawings.
Prior experience using structural analysis programs.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Preferred Qualifications:
PE Certification.
Previous Bechtel project experience.
Previous DOD/DOE project experience.
