Johnson Service Group is looking for an Engineering Technician for one of our clients in the San Jose area. this role involves conducting field investigations and assessments along streams, levees, and maintenance roads, collecting and mapping data using GPS tools and GIS software
Responsibilities:
Conduct field inspections and assessments of streams, levees, and maintenance roads.
Collect, analyze, and map field data using GPS and GIS software.
Prepare work orders and coordinate tasks for field crews.
Assist in the preparation of reports documenting work performed on clients assets.
Respond to internal and external requests
Collaborate with field operations staff, engineering technicians, and engineers to support ongoing maintenance and improvement projects.
Knowledge of:
Methods and techniques of field inspections
Principles of research and report preparation
GPS tools and GIS software
Civil infrastructure, including creeks and levees
Skills/Abilities:
Perform field inspections and research activities
Prepare work orders and GIS maps
Provide excellent customer service
Collaborate effectively with field and engineering teams
Qualifications:
Two (2) years of responsible technical engineering support experience.
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 12 college semester units in engineering, geography, mathematics, or a related field.
Experience with field inspections, GPS data collection, and GIS mapping.
Strong organizational, reporting, and communication skills.
Knowledge of watershed management, stream and levee maintenance, or civil engineering principles is preferred.
Valid CA Drivers License
This is a 6 month contract position pay rate $35.78/hr.
