Johnson Service Group is looking for an Equipment Mechanic for one of our clients in San Jose. This person will assist with the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on dewatering equipment, pumps, generators, trailers, small engines, vehicles, and construction equipment.
Assist with diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical, hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, and drivetrain systems.
Conduct equipment safety inspections and follow established maintenance procedures.
Safely handle and dispense fuel in accordance with shop and safety procedures.
Assist with equipment check-out/check-in processes and dewatering equipment requests.
Support parts and inventory activities, including receiving, stocking, issuing, organizing, and tracking parts, materials, and equipment supplies.
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with District staff, vendors, and shop personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
One (1) year of experience performing repair and maintenance of vehicles or mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of basic vehicle and equipment maintenance practices and preventive maintenance procedures.
Ability to use common hand and power tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and repairs under management direction.
Ability to read and follow service manuals, parts lists, and written instructions.
Experience assisting with parts, inventory, and equipment tracking is preferred.
Familiarity with dewatering equipment, pumps, generators, trailers, small engines, or construction equipment is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.
License
