Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our client’s operation in San Diego, CA. This is a long-term contract (contract to hire) position and a great opportunity to work on a high-profile government project.
Responsibilities:
Facilities preventative maintenance, repair, renovation, removal, and disposal.
Tools, inventory management & job tracking.
Perform building and facility inspections.
Provide material quotes and make purchases for maintenance and repairs.
Responsible for performing repair and maintenance activities in a safe and effective manner using safety equipment when needed.
Provide maintenance services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, minor landscaping, electrical, and machinery.
Provide general repair or replacement of window coverings, chains, door hardware, wall repair, decking, exterior stairs, interior / exterior paint, tile, carpet tile, and general upkeep of facilities.
Perform inclement weather preparation and facilities tie-downs.
Furniture, repair, upkeep, and relocation including building appliances.
Minor facilities maintenance work
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience performing general labor functions or facilities maintenance
Military base facilities experience preferred
Highschool or GED diploma required, Associate’s degree preferred
Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC maintenance and repair preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be a US Citizen with current or previous (last 2 years) DoD Secret Clearance
Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
