Johnson Service Group, a national recruiting firm, is assisting our global manufacturing client in finding a direct hire, Field Service Engineer in the Northeast region of the United States. This role is responsible for emergency support, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, commissioning, and upgrades on substations.
Remote with 75% travel | Our client is unable to provide current or future sponsorship
Responsibilities:
Act as point of contact and subject matter expert for maintenance & repair of stations/systems
Provide customer support via phone communication and travel to the customer site
Take ownership of customer issues and work collaboratively with warranty project managers to resolve the issues in a timely manner
Provide technical expertise, direction, and guidance to less experienced personnel including customer training efforts
Strong understanding of health and safety processes and protocols and ensuring the safety of personnel during work activities
Supporting of sales efforts during customer site visits
Qualifications:
BSEE
5+ years’ experience in hands-on testing of electrical equipment in substation environments
Knowledge of Power Electronics, SVC, SC, or HVDC technologies, and electrical standards such as ANSI, CSA, and IECÂ
Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States
